Conservation Architecture in the Southwest
— 27 May 2025

Last week Director Jonny Poland spoke to students at Cambridge University about opportunities to work in Conservation architecture in the beautiful Southwest on some of the UK's most prestigious heritage buildings.
Students were excited to hear about the sort of projects that they could be working on at Jonathan Rhind Architects, from local churches to barn conversions, medieval manors and sustainable new build. There was the opportunity to chat to students after the presentations and Jonny was impressed with the breadth of interest and engagement with the topics he discussed.
As a small practice, Jonathan Rhind Architects is able to offer Part I and II Architectural Assistants the opportunity to get involved in all aspects of projects from concept design to contract management; and work directly with clients, contractors, consultants, craftspeople and heritage specialists.
Part I and II Architectural Assistants bring fresh insights and ideas into practice, and we are pleased to be able to support the next generation of architects gain the experience they need to conserve our important heritage buildings.
