Jonathan Rhind Architects would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas.

It has been an exciting year for Jonathan Rhind Architects with a move to new offices for the north Devon team; a new baby for Architect Tina Botsi; a big welcome to new team members Miriam Kelly, Charlie Matheson and Joe Shadrick bringing conservation experience and fresh thinking to the team.

Director Jonathan Rhind was invited to sit on the jury for the South West RIBA awards, and we recently celebrated Senior Architectural Assistant Andy Hedger passing his Part III exams – look out for a blog in the New Year. Tina and Rick Gilroy have embarked on a Master’s in Building Conservation, and numerous CPD events have taken place, on site, in a quarry, at a stonemasons, and in the studio to name a few.

A few project highlights include, planning permission achieved for the iconic art deco Burgh Island Hotel; complex conservation works on Killerton Chapel completed; evidence of a rare medieval shingle roof uncovered on a Grade I listed Devon church; and the completion and opening of more projects at the exciting Woolsery Collective site.

As the festive season approaches, we wanted to share some of the artwork sketched by the team, including the winner of our Christmas art competition Architectural Apprentice, Evie Burrows, whose incredibly life-like robin literally sings off the page. A worthy winner!

The Jonathan Rhind Architects offices will close from Friday 22nd December until Tuesday 2nd January.

We wish you all a relaxing and fun holiday, and look forward to working with you in the new year.
