Work commences to Dunster landmark

Listed Building and Planning approved works have recently started to one of Dunster's picturesque Grade II listed cottages. JRA have been retained as Principal Designer and Contract Administrator for the repair, extension and refurbishment works being carried out by a local contractor.

The initial brief was to repair and upgrade the original building and replace poorly designed and detailed 20th century single storey extensions. New contemporary timber clad extensions will provide improved accommodation within tight space restrictions.

Initial building works have involved various consultants such as Ecologists, Archaeologists and Structural Engineers. Demolition and construction work is being carefully managed to minimise disturbance at a busy location popular with tourists. Works are anticipated to be completed in December 2015.
