Exterior of barn - works underway

Work is underway at Wolfgar Barn, a timber framed cattle barn, approximately 15 years old, which has Class Q permitted development conversion to a 4 bedroomed house. The work started on site at the beginning of September, the client removing the existing timber cladding and cutting down the enclosing hedge bank trees and shrubs which had enclosed the barn and did obscure the views to the south to Giant’s Grave on Dartmoor.

The corrugated cement sheet roofing and timber frame and concrete ground slab are staying in position, so new timber framed walls went up quickly. Then the multifoil insulation was installed, which should achieve the highest levels of heat retention with an overall energy rating of 92 out of 100 – Code for Sustainable Homes level 6.
