JRA welcomes new Part 1 Architectural Assistant
— 25 Mar 2021
Jonathan Rhind Architects are delighted to welcome Lillie Coxon; Part I Architectural Assistant to the team. Lillie has had an unusual start to working at the Practice, with the current lockdown measures necessitating a remote start. With an introduction to the rest of the team via video link and day to day work from home, Lillie has been unphased by the unusual circumstances and has met the challenges of a new job and new way of working head on.
Lillie gained a first-class degree from the University of Brighton, where her final year project, a proposal for a performance space for the ‘Nick Cave Conversations With’ tour, was nominated for multiple awards and shortlisted for the RIBA Bronze Medal Nomination. The project centred on utilising elements of the site’s existing physical context within the new design, focusing on the details in joining old and new always concentrating on the 1:1 experience of users. The aim being to create a sensitive and immersive experience through the materiality and lighting.
Since starting at the practice Lillie has been assisting Director Martin Sturley-Hayes and Architect Tina Botsi with a property on Exmoor on the North Devon coast; looking at feasibility and design to rearrange the accommodation of a holiday property to improve circulation space, updating finishes and investigating sustainable alternatives for heating. She has also been working on initial concept designs and modelling for renovations to a cottage in Somerset.
When the guidance allows, Lillie will be working at our Taunton studio. For more information about our team see our practice profile page.
A warm remote welcome to Lillie and we all look forward to welcoming her in person soon.
