Wolfgar Barn

Taking advantage of Class Q planning legislation the conversion of this 15 year old Devon barn was completed in only 10 months. The corrugated cement sheet roofing, timber frame and concrete ground slab stayed in position, allowing for the fast installation of new timber framed walls and larch cladding. Reflective multifoil insulation gives a massive 92% energy rating—substantially exceeding current building regulations requirements.

Thin profile detailing of the steel frame doors and windows give a modern feel. Internally power floated concrete floors and crisp painted plaster walls to the double height spaces contrast with the softer exposed ceiling joists and timber floorboards to the bedrooms.
