This house overlooking the beach at Saunton was built in the early 20th century and while not listed, is sited in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and Site of Special Scientific Interest overlooking Saunton Beach.
The new owners wanted to make the house suitable for several families to use and alter the layout to make the best of the sun and views over the beach and golf course to the south: • Create large terrace at ground floor level with kitchen and sitting room opening out onto it. • Raised hot tub/spa with views over the beach. • Swimming pool at garden level. • Glass balustrades to avoid interruption of the view. • Five bedrooms and en-suite bathrooms. After careful consultation with the local conservation officer, English Nature and the Highways Department, permission was gained for the programme of works and the project was completed in Summer 2009.
