Bridport Town Hall
Design project to improve access to both floors, enabling better use and appreciation of the building by local people and visitors.
This prominent Grade 1 listed Town Hall in the centre of Bridport has limited access to the public rooms on the first floor and much of the ground floor has been taken over as public toilets. The Town Council's aim is to improve the access to both floors to enable better use and appreciation of the building by both local people and visitors. The practice has undertaken design and appraisal strategies to assist the Town Council in its application for public grants to carry out the work. This work has included a significant amount of public consultation and has sought to consult and accommodate the Butchers which have been a tenant of the building for a number of years and is very popular in the town.
